The first cricket match in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg took place in 1973, with the first club, Optimists Cricket Club formed three years later. Luxembourg club teams have featured in the Belgian League ever since 1991. The Luxembourg Cricket Federation (LCF) was formed in 1994 with three clubs and became an ICC Affiliate Member four years later.

Boasting a long history of playing international cricket dating back to 2003, Luxembourg are the lowest ranked of the sides in Group A in the ICC T20 rankings at 54, but although slight underdogs, Luxembourg have absolutely nothing to lose in the hardest group of all to call.

Ansh Trivedi, Thomas Martin, Oscar Whiteman are all talented graduates of Luxembourg's Junior program. These young guns will carry Luxembourg's hopes. Ansh is an opening bowler, Thomas an all-rounder, and Oscar is a middle order batsman. All outstanding fielders, batsman will have a real hard time evading them in the field. Many of the Luxembourg squad have shown good form over the shorter format, in particular the evergreen Tony Whiteman, finishing a very respectable runners-up at the recent Continental Cup, a six-nation T20 Tournament.

Tony Whiteman, experienced cricketer, who will lead the side. Classical batting technique, but able to clear the rope with consumate ease.

Roshan Vishwanath, another experienced cricketer who loves to keep his strike-rate above 150. Quick between the wickets and sets the standard in the field.

Thomas Martin, another strong hitter. Young gun with plenty of potential, will relish the step up to international level. Can clear the ropes with ease as well.

Raju Akulwar, natural outswing bowler. Nominated as an emerging cricketer in Luxembourg. Can do real damage with the new ball.

Amit Dhingra, quickest of the bunch. Death bowler with loads of experience in Luxembourg cricket.
