An investigation into a potential breach of the Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA) was held today at the European Cricket Series Gothenburg.
The player has been identified and sanctioned. The offending player is responsible for his social media accounts and any posts; therefore, this is viewed as a breach of the PMOA. The sanction is applied to the team as a whole, because all its players as a team are fully responsible for adherence. As a result, the offending team has forfeited all of their points gained.
These are new regulations for many of these players and we will continue to educate all players and match officials taking part to learn and understand the standards that are expected of them when playing in broadcasted cricket events.
