PREVIEW: MATCH 1 – Frankfurt CC vs MSC Frankfurt – European Cricket Series Frankfurt

Tune in to the live action Saturday from 9am CEST * 8am UK * 7am GMT * 12:30pm IST from the Frankfurt Cricket Club ground in Frankfurt, Germany.

Team Preview for Frankfurt CC

Frankfurt CC host and feature in the tournament opener of the ten-game European Cricket Series Frankfurt.  2019 brought mixed results for the club in short-form cricket, so it will be very interesting to see if they can adapt to the dynamic ECS format.

Captain: Alim Al Razy

Main Wicketkeeper: Wamaq Syed

Key Players:

Wamaq Syed is a veteran of the club and will take up his regular position behind the wickets.  He is also an experienced bat in the top order.

Alishan Mohmand will open the batting and will be keen to impress with his performance in the powerplay for Frankfurt CC.

Aqil Tariq is a dashing opener.  He will have to balance his attacking instincts with a degree of cautious, with MSC possessing a couple of new ball threats.

Hasan Nauman is a reliable workhorse for Frankfurt CC with the ball, while he can also take out the long handle down the order if required.

Team Preview for MSC Frankfurt

MSC joins Frankfurt CC in the battle for the early points in the European Cricket Series Frankfurt.  They had the wood on their opponents last season, but this is T10 in 2020 and anything can happen!

Captain: Sekandar Khan

Main Wicketkeeper: Habib Rahman

Key Players:

Adel Khan is an ex-Afghanistan A representative and a brilliant hitter of the ball.  I would expect him to open the batting and he’s a dangerous man with bat in hand.

Shahid Afridi Jr will most likely open the batting and the bowling for MSC.  He bowls with genuine pace and will be asking some serious questions of the Frankfurt CC opener.

Muslim Yar Ashraf is a current German national team member who scored a double-hundred in the Bundesliga last season.  He is also an option for his captain with his left-arm orthodox spin.

Sekandar Khan will lead the side. He is a German representative and has formerly captained Hessen in the Super Series.  He would love to chalk up a win in this first match.

Mr Maximo’s tip: MSC FRANKFURT

With only ten games in this entire series, it is imperative for both teams to get off to a good start. Both these teams will play Türk FC Hattersheim am Main in their other group match of the tournament. Possessing an array of big-hitting batsmen suited to this format, I expect MSC Frankfurt to defeat Frankfurt CC and put one foot in the semi-finals.
