PREVIEW: WEEK 4, MATCH 5 – Moravian CC vs Brno Rangers – ECN Czech Super Series

Tune in to the live action Sunday from 10am CEST * 9am UK * 8am GMT * 1:30pm IST from the Brno Cricket Ground in the Czech Republic.

Team Preview for Moravian CC

Moravian CC had a tough initiation to the ECN Czech Super Series, struggling to put a competitive score on the board.  They will hope for a better showing in their final preliminary match against Brno Rangers.

Captain: Vineesh Njarekkattil

Main Wicket-Keeper: Syed Abdul-Wahab

Key Players:

Anil Manavalan was a shining light for the Moravians on Day 1, taking 3 for 12 in their opening fixture.  He will be hoping to add some runs at the top of the order in this final preliminary match.

Jobi Samuel fought hard on the first day, scoring 16 runs without being dismissed.  He would love to pick up an early wicket or two opening the bowling.

Vineesh Njarekkattil has a tough task leading the side against the strong Rangers top six, but he must expertly manage his bowlers if he is to keep their target down to something chaseable.

Team Preview for Brno Rangers

Brno Rangers impressed in their first day of play, but there is definitely some room for improvement.  They will hope to cement top spot with a big win in their last round robin match.

Captain: Naveed Ahmed

Main Wicket-Keeper: Ushan Gunathilake

Key Players:

Somersekhar Banerjee looked good in their first match, scoring 33 off 23 balls.  He would love to score big runs first up on Sunday morning.

Rahat Ali was dangerous with the ball, picking up 2 for 6 in his first match of the ECN Super Series.  I expect him to pick up more wickets on Day 2.

Ushan Gunathilake really impressed me with his wicket-keeping skills, particularly up to the stumps.  He sets a high standard in the field and expects the rest of his teammates to follow suit.

MR MAXIMO’S TIP: BRNO RANGERS

Unless the Rangers all get out of the wrong side of the bed on Sunday morning, I expect this to be a very one-sided match.  I expect Rangers to sweep aside Moravian and head into the business end of the day full of confidence.
