PREVIEW: WEEK 2, MATCH 1 – PCC Knights vs Vinohrady Biancos – ECN Czech Super Series

Tune in to the live action Friday from 12pm CEST * 11am UK * 10am GMT * 3:30pm IST from the Velvary Cricket Ground in the Czech Republic.

Team Preview for PCC Knights

Prague Cricket Club Knights have an experienced side, and a very talented top order.  They need their early batsmen to fire and build a large total if they are going to start with a win against the Biancos.

Captain and Main Wicket-Keeper: Sujith Gopalakrishnan

Key Players:

Kasi Vishwanathan Balakrishnan is a right-handed top order bat and is known for his big hitting.  If he gets going his side will have a chance.

Sujith Gopalakrishnan will most likely bat in the middle order and has an important job to do behind the stumps.  As captain, managing his bowlers will be very important in this match.

Laxminarayanan Selvan is a styling left-hand top order batsman, as well as being a more than handy right arm pace bowler if required.

Vijay Karthikeyan can swing the ball around corners.  If he gets it wobbling then he is sure to make life awkward for the opposition batsmen.

Team Preview for Vinohrady Biancos

Vinohrady Biancos will be very keen to impress on the big stage in their first outing.  A side with excellent bowling depth, they will look to put the opposition on the backfoot by taking early wickets.

Captain: John Corness

Main Wicket-Keeper: Toby Haslam

Key Players:

Lukas Fencl is an all-round talent.  In addition to being a gifted middle order strokemaker, he bowls useful medium pace and has an excellent pair of hands.  He will hope to set the standard in the field.

Vojtech Hasa will most likely open the batting.  He once hit 111 off only 50 balls in a T20 match, so let’s see if he can repeat those heroics this weekend.

John Corness is an experienced all-rounder and will lead the side.  He will chip in with his two overs, and can hit it big with the bat.

Edward Entwistle will bowl medium pace.  He will have fond memories of taking 5 wickets on the Velvary ground on his last visit.

MR MAXIMO’S TIP: VINOHRADY BIANCOS

It’s been a tough couple of days in the prediction game, but I just feel that Vinohrady Biancos are going to win this one narrowly.  Look out for a big performance from Lukas Fencl to get his team over the line in the weekend opener.
