Openers Adam Alger (34 off 15 balls) and Joel Brook (23 off 16 balls) got La Manga off to a rapid start, putting on 62 in the first five overs. Jonathan Kinsella (21 off 18 balls) then consolidated before Ravi Panchal and Paul Hennessy (14 off 4) took the score to a challenging 108 off 10.
In reply, the Intellectuals were never really in the hunt. Opener Ismail Baig contributed 47 off 33 balls, the only double figure score for the Intellectuals who closed on 68 off their 10 over allocation.
La Manga skipper Connor Wood produced the exceptional figures of 2-3 off two overs, ably supported by Charlie Rumistrzewicz with 2-13, while the miserly Panchal conceded just eight runs in his two overs.
