Sun, Sea and Swing: ECF Ibiza 2026 Brings Festival Cricket to the Balearic Islands

The European Cricket Festival heads to one of its most unique destinations yet as ECF Ibiza 2026 takes place from 2–3 May, bringing club cricket to the Balearic Islands.

Across two days, Sporting Alfas travel to face Ibiza Cricket Club in a three-match series that blends formats, with the hosts fielding two sides: Ibiza and Ibiza Renegades.

A Mixed-Format Weekend

This event continues the European Cricket Festival theme of innovation, with a format shift across the series.

The opening match will be played in a 40-over format, before the event transitions into two T20 matches to close the weekend.

That progression creates a unique test. Teams must first manage the longer format with patience and structure, before switching into the faster tempo and higher-risk nature of T20 cricket. Tactical flexibility, squad balance and adaptability will all play a key role.

Cricket Meets the Mediterranean

Ibiza may be globally known for its beaches and nightlife, but the island is steadily building its place in European cricket.

With the support of Cricket España and the continued growth of ECN events across the country, Spain has become one of the most active cricketing regions in Europe. ECF Ibiza adds another destination to that map, combining high-quality cricket with a distinctive setting.

For Sporting Alfas, the challenge lies in adapting to different formats and opponents across the weekend. For Ibiza, the opportunity comes through squad depth, fielding both a main side and the Renegades.
