Team Preview for Bergamo United
Bergamo United CC are probably the favourites in Group B. They were T20 championship winners as recently as 2018 and they had promising results this season although they fell at the quarter final stage to a strong Jinnah Brescia side. They will want to get their series off to a good start on Thursday and set themselves up for a spot in the semis on Super Sunday.
Captain: Azmat Ali
Main Wicketkeeper: Mubashir Amin
Key Players:
Mubashir Amin is a big-hitting wicketkeeper-batsman. Likely to bat in the pivotal number three position, he possesses the ability to change a game with his array of attacking strokes. In good domestic form, I expect him to be a factor in Rome this week.
Ahtasham Javaid will open the batting. This player loves to pounce on anything short as he’s very strong square of the wicket. He won’t be afraid to go aerial in the first couple of overs!
Ravi Paul is an opening bowler who can swing the new ball at a good pace. He will be after an early wicket or two to stifle the opposition innings.
Team Preview for Venezia
Venezia CC were started by current club president Alberto Miggiani after he found some strange objects in his back garden – they turned out to be cricket balls! The club had some promising performances this year, qualifying for the quarter finals of both the Italian T20 Championship and the Coppa Italia.

Main Wicketkeeper: Sojun Islam
Key Players:
Hosan Ahmed will bat number three and provide some left arm spin for Venezia. Formerly, he bowled pace and was compared to the style of Sri Lankan great, Chaminda Vaas, but a shoulder injury has led to him reinventing himself as a tweaker. He will no doubt be an influential player in Rome.
Nazmul Haque is the captain and most senior player in the Venezia player group. He has consistently been among the highest run-scorers for his team and leads from the front. He will be hungry to lead his team to a place on Super Sunday in Rome.
Shagar Choquder will take the new ball and is one of the best bowlers that the club has produced. He can also produce some big bombs with the bat if he gets an opportunity.

I believe these two teams could well both progress from Group B if they play to their potential. I would expect Venezia to be very competitive against Bergamo United but ultimatelym I believe that the Bergamo United side will be a little too strong for Venezia in this showdown.
