Today, European Cricket League AG (“ECL AG”) and Spring Productions announced a two-year extension for continued top quality European Cricket productions, extending its partnership to cover the vast number of European Cricket Network events all around Europe.

European Cricket extends agreement with Spring Productions

In 2019, ECL AG successfully initiated the European Cricket League, “ECL19”, as the Champions League of European cricket, with over 140 million viewers and 45 broadcast partners throughout the world. Despite the Covid-affected 2020 season, ECL AG managed to continue its growth by launching the European Cricket Series (ECS) – domestic T10 events that have rapidly ignited the promotion and awareness of the sport on the continent. With over 1000 matches already livestreamed over the last year, European Cricket Series has quickly established itself as one of TV’s largest global broadcast cricket events.

"After more than 1000 matches within the last 11 months of cooperation, ECL AG is proud to officially announce the partnership with Spring Productions that has continuously improved the quality of day-to-day live cricket transmission from more than 25 countries in Europe," said Daniel Weston, Founder of the European Cricket Network.

"We’re thrilled to be trusted with the continued production assignment for such prestigious events," said Craig Neilson, Commercial Manager at Spring Media. "We are always looking to enhance the production to make it stand out from everything else on the market. Being able to incorporate our Riga MCR to create offsite elements - such as event highlights, clips and general editorial moments - as well as utilizing our dedicated daily operations team, allow us the flexibility to grow at pace with ECL AG in the coming months and years.

"Spring Productions’ investment into the cricket project boosts the presentation and recognition of European Cricket in all related markets worldwide. We are looking forward to establishing a long-lasting and growing relationship to jointly showcase the beauty of cricket."

This autumn, Spring Productions will naturally be on board to bring coverage of the inaugural European Cricket Championship in Malaga, Spain. With 15 participating teams in its inaugural 2021 edition - ECC21 is a month-long national team tournament including England Amateurs, Scotland 'A' and Netherlands 'A' who will feature in almost 100 games in September and October broadcast to a worldwide audience.
