European Cricket Network is pleased to announce a new broadcast partnership with the Mediterranean Cricket League for 2027, bringing one of Europe’s most distinctive T20 cricket experiences to a wider global audience.

Taking place on the Croatian coast in May 2027, the Mediterranean Cricket League will return to Split with a four-day T20 competition featuring national, club, and touring teams from around the world. As part of the partnership, ECN will provide streaming and production coverage for the event, with matches broadcast live through ECN channels and supported across European Cricket’s digital and social media platforms.

The Mediterranean Cricket League has grown into a respected international cricket event, welcoming teams, officials, and supporters from more than 15 countries over the years. The tournament has also hosted players and sporting figures including Brett Lee, Brad Hogg, Darren Maddy, Abey Kuruvilla, Saša Ilić, Pavel Florin, and a wide range of European international cricketers.

MCL’s tournament ambassadors include Simon Katich, Brad Hogg, Darren Maddy, and Pavel Florin, reflecting the event’s international character and its commitment to growing cricket through competition, community, and cultural exchange.

The 2027 edition will continue the MCL’s established T20 format, with 4 to 6 teams playing a total of 12 matches across the tournament. The event is designed to combine competitive cricket with the wider experience of Croatia as a cricket tourism destination, bringing together players, families, supporters, and partners in one of Europe’s most attractive coastal locations.

The partnership also supports a wider cricket festival concept in Split. Following the success of the annual Vis Sixes tournament on the Croatian island of Vis, plans are being developed for the launch of Europe 6’s Cricket, a new international six-a-side event to be played immediately after the MCL in May 2027.

The proposed Split International Cricket Festival will bring together:

Mediterranean Cricket League T20 24 to 27 May 2027

Europe 6’s Cricket 28 to 29 May 2027

Together, the two events aim to showcase Croatia as one of Europe’s emerging cricket tourism destinations while creating new opportunities for national, club, and touring teams to compete in a unique festival environment.

Speaking about the partnership, European Cricket said:

“We are delighted to partner with the Mediterranean Cricket League as broadcast partners for 2027. The MCL has built a strong identity by combining competitive cricket with community, travel, and the beauty of the Croatian coast. This is exactly the kind of event that helps show how cricket is developing across Europe in different and exciting ways. Through ECN’s production, streaming, and digital platforms, we look forward to helping the MCL reach new audiences and supporting the continued growth of cricket in Croatia and the wider region.”

Jeff Grzinic, Tournament Director of the Mediterranean Cricket League, added:

“The Mediterranean Cricket League has always been more than just a tournament. It is about bringing people together through cricket, creating memorable experiences, and showing what Croatia can offer as a cricket destination. Partnering with ECN gives us a fantastic opportunity to share that story with a much wider audience in 2027.”

The Mediterranean Cricket League is now accepting expressions of interest from national teams, club teams, touring sides, and businesses interested in participating or becoming involved in the 2027 event.
