Following extensive planning and development work, the project has now secured approvals for both the European Cricket Ground and Campo Maximo Resort, marking an important step forward and allowing development to progress across both sites.
Construction underway at the European Cricket Ground
Work is already underway at the European Cricket Ground, with Spanish construction company VORACYS leading construction activities at the stadium site.
The ground will form the sporting centrepiece of Campo Maximo, providing dedicated cricket infrastructure designed to support the continued development of the game in Europe.
The development represents a significant step towards establishing a permanent home for European Cricket, creating new opportunities for competitions, player development and the wider cricket community.
Campo Maximo Resort moves towards construction
Alongside the European Cricket Ground, plans are progressing for Campo Maximo Resort.
With approvals now secured, the next major step will be the appointment of a lead construction contractor, expected in the coming months, ahead of work commencing at the resort site.
Together, the European Cricket Ground and Campo Maximo Resort will form one connected destination, combining cricket with accommodation, leisure and hospitality on Spain's Mediterranean coast.
More than a cricket destination
Campo Maximo's vision extends beyond the boundaries of the cricket ground.
By bringing together specialist sporting facilities and premium hospitality, the destination aims to create an environment where cricket can be played, experienced and enjoyed throughout the year.
From international competitions and cricket tours to training opportunities and leisure experiences, Campo Maximo will provide a new setting for the sport and the communities connected to it.
For European Cricket, the project marks an important stage in its long-term development, providing a foundation for future events, partnerships and opportunities to grow the game.
