Portugal Liga Grizzly Div 1, 2026 brought senior men’s club T20 cricket to Santarem with 8 teams lighting up the Santarem Cricket Ground. Across 60 completed matches of action, the event produced 18,343 runs, 464 Maximos, and a stack of memorable performances with the overall event record marked as in progress.

The Tournament in Numbers

Portugal Liga Grizzly Div 1, 2026 was staged in Portugal under Portugal Cricket, with the action centred in Santarem at the Santarem Cricket Ground. The T20 club competition ran from Sunday 26 April 2026 to Sunday 13 September 2026 across 19 match days, bringing together 8 teams in a packed senior men’s event.

The run-scoring was relentless. The tournament produced 18,343 runs at an average of 8.2 runs per over, with scoring moving along at 1.26 runs per ball — or 126.0 runs per 100 balls.

The event’s scoring tempo came with plenty of wickets too. There were 866 dismissals overall, with a dismissal rate of 3.9 per ten overs and 21.2 runs made per dismissal. Dot-ball percentage was recorded at 40%, which only added to the value of the big hits and sharp running when batters did get going.

Teams setting targets generally had the stronger hand: across the 59-match result split recorded, batting first delivered 66% of the wins, leaving chasing sides with the tougher route more often than not.

And when it came to the win column, Oeiras led the way by winning the most matches, finishing with 14 victories.

Batting Fireworks

The batters gave Portugal Liga Grizzly Div 1, 2026 its pulse.

Parveen Singh of Punjab CC Amadora topped the run charts with 556 runs in 16 matches, while also proving one of the event’s major power-hitters. They struck 36 Maximos in 11 matches, the highest Maximo tally by a batter in the tournament records provided.

The biggest individual innings belonged to Muhammad Usama of Malo, who smashed an unbeaten 115 from 67 balls against Punjab CC Amadora in Qualifier 2. That same match also produced the event’s highest successful chase, with Punjab CC Amadora beating Malo by 4 wickets while chasing 202, getting there with 6 balls to spare.

Punjab CC Amadora were at the heart of another massive batting moment too. They posted the highest team total of the event, piling up 248-4 in 20 overs against Gorkha XI in Match 14. In that same match, Punjab CC Amadora also produced the most expensive single over for a bowling side to endure, taking 27 runs from over 20 against Gorkha XI.

The fours and Maximos came thick and fast throughout the event. The four-hitting rate stood at 7.3 per ten overs, while Maximos arrived at 2.1 per ten overs. In all, the tournament saw 1,627 scoring shots to the rope or beyond, with 464 of them clearing it for Maximos. A Maximo arrived every 28.9 balls on average.

Altogether, 9,292 runs came through fours and Maximos — 51% of the event’s total scoring. That is a huge chunk of the tournament’s 18,343 runs and shows just how much the batters shaped the spectacle in Santarem.

Bowling Brilliance

The bowlers had their moments too, and some of them were spectacular.

The best bowling figures of Portugal Liga Grizzly Div 1, 2026 came from Hardeep Khuttan of Malo, who produced a superb 6/18 in 3.0 overs against Gorkha XI in Match 22. In a T20 event packed with scoring, that spell stands out as one of the sharpest interventions of the competition.

Rahul Hudda of Lisbon Capitals finished as the leading wicket-taker, claiming 28 wickets in 13 matches. In a tournament where runs flowed at 8.2 per over, that kind of wicket-taking output was vital.

There was also a standout defending effort from Werewolves CC, who protected the lowest defended score of the event. They beat Porto Wanderers by 7 runs in Eliminator 1 after defending 149 — a reminder that even in a run-rich tournament, pressure bowling could still win the day.

Fielding and Keeping Standouts

Fielding made its mark across Portugal Liga Grizzly Div 1, 2026, with dismissals coming in all forms.

Parveen Singh of Punjab CC Amadora was the top outfielder, completing 12 dismissals in 9 matches — all 12 of them catches, with no run outs. Add that to their batting and Maximo numbers, and Parveen’s all-round event impact was clear.

Behind the stumps, Ram Haritwal of Werewolves CC led the wicketkeeping charts with 18 dismissals in 11 matches. That tally included 15 catches as wicketkeeper, no stumpings, and 3 run outs, making them the standout keeper in the event data.

A Valuable All-Round Campaign

Amninder Singh of Gorkha XI was named the event’s Most Valuable Player for Portugal Liga Grizzly Div 1, 2026, putting together a strong all-round campaign in the senior men’s T20 competition.

They played 14 matches, batted in all 14, and also bowled in all 14. With the bat, they scored 545 runs from 416 balls at an average of 38.9 and a strike rate of 131.0. Their top score was 90 from 55 balls for Gorkha XI against Fighters CC on Sunday 26 April 2026, the same match in which they hit their event-best 4 Maximos.

Across the event, Amninder struck 15 Maximos at a batter Maximo rate of 2.2 per ten overs, with 17.0% of their runs coming from fours and Maximos.

With the ball, they sent down 343 balls, took 24 wickets, conceded 384 runs, and finished with an economy rate of 6.7 and a bowling strike rate of 14.3. Their best match bowling was 4/18 in 4.1 overs for Gorkha XI against Lisbon Super Giants on Sunday 12 July 2026.

They finished with 1,820 fantasy points, were recorded as having played in 2 events, and are listed as yet to play for a national team. Their MVP record also sits within the event data marked as in progress.
