ECS Hungary 2026: Champions Return as Budapest Gets Set for a Six-Day Cricket Sprint

ECS Hungary, 2026 lands at GB Oval in Budapest from Monday 14 September to Saturday 19 September 2026, bringing together five senior men’s club sides under the Hungarian Cricket Association banner. With 23 matches planned across six match days, the stage is set for a packed week in Hungary.

Champions in the Field

There is serious history in this ECS Hungary line-up.

Royal Tigers arrive with two previous crowns in this country, having won the European Cricket Series Hungary in 2020 and the FanCode ECS Hungary in 2021. Budapest Blinders, meanwhile, carry the more recent champion’s aura after winning ECS Hungary in both 2023 and 2024.

That makes this edition especially spicy: the past four listed winners are represented by two teams in the current field. Royal Tigers are back with six ECN events behind them, while Budapest Blinders return after five ECN events and with the strongest overall team mark in the tournament at 96.

The Five-Team Picture

Budapest Blinders look formidable on paper. They sit 30th in the ECN team standings, with a 96 overall mark, built on batting rated 95, bowling at 93 and fielding at 93.

Cobra CC are not far away. Ranked 43rd, they bring a 95 overall mark into their sixth-day Budapest campaign, with batting at 94, bowling at 92 and fielding also at 93. Like the Blinders, Cobra CC have already featured in five ECN events.

United Csalad Budapest have also played five ECN events and arrive ranked 73rd. Their overall mark is 94, with batting rated 92, bowling 89 and fielding an impressive 94.

Budapest Super Kings have three ECN events on their résumé and enter ranked 89th. Their overall mark is 92, with batting at 89, bowling at 90 and fielding at 93.

Royal Tigers, despite their trophy history, come in ranked 253rd with an overall mark of 81. Their batting is rated 81, bowling 82 and fielding 85 — but with six ECN events of experience and those past Hungary titles, they remain a major storyline.

Run-Makers, Maximo Men and Batting Firepower

United Csalad Budapest have a headline act in Vinoth Ravindran, who leads all players at this event with 2,964 ECN runs. He has also played more ECN matches than anyone else in the field with 102 appearances, and no player here has hit more maximos than his 245.

Ali Nawaz, also of United Csalad Budapest, brings one of the most explosive individual records into the event. He owns the highest top score among players involved: an unbeaten 85 from 25 balls for United Csalad Budapest against Danubian Kangaroos on 25 July 2024. He also has the best maximo rate in the field at 16.2.

Budapest Super Kings have their own batting standouts. Zill E Islam owns the highest batting strike rate among players in the event at 219.0, as well as the top individual batter mark of 98. His teammate Pehlaj Rai has the best batting average in the group at 51.0.

Bowlers Ready to Shape the Week

Zill E Islam’s influence is not limited to batting. He also has the highest individual bowling mark in the event at 52, giving Budapest Super Kings a rare two-discipline weapon.

Shiva Tadela, another Budapest Super Kings name to watch, brings the best bowling average at 15.2 and the sharpest bowling strike rate at 7.5. He also owns the best figures among all players here: 5/11 in 1.3 overs for Budapest Super Kings against Blinders Blizzards on 12 July 2023.

Budapest Blinders have serious wicket-taking pedigree through Abbas Ghani, the leading ECN wicket-taker in this event with 62. They also have Ali Yalmaz, whose economy rate of 9.2 is the best among the bowlers involved.
