ECS Records tumbled in the opening match of Day Four as newbies Gozo (GOZ) were thumped by Super Kings (SKI) by a stunning 194 runs. Bikram Arora and Affy Khan powered SKI to 200, the highest ever score in ECS history. The match quickly turned further downhill for GOZ as a savage 6-3 return from Ashok Bishnoi bundled the GOZ side out for six runs, the lowest ever score in ECS history!
Needless to say, a deflated GOZ lost the second fixture as well, this time by 92 runs. Chasing 144, GOZ could only muster 51 runs in their 10 overs. Yash Singh picked up three wickets for just seven runs and was made the Man of the Match.
Mater Dei finally opened their account in FanCode ECS Malta 2021 with a comfortable win over Swieqi United. Faisal Naeem’s economical spell restricted SWU to a score of 52 and Azeem Sathi made the run-chase a breeze with an 18-ball 33.
In the last match of the day, Cornelius Younus slammed a 25-ball 46 for Mater Dei to power them to 110. SWU batsmen fared better than earlier in the day, but Bilal Khan’s 30 was still the only score in double digits. The Man of the Match went to Muthu Kumaran for removing the cream of SWU’s batting as he finished with 3-18.
