SOUTHERN CRUSADERS Key Players:
Zeeshan Yousaf, all-rounder, big hitting opener, moves the ball both ways, picked up eight wickets leading the wicket taking charts and piled up 150 runs in the previous edition, is a good outfielder too. Played a good hand in both the matches scoring 36 runs in two games but he will look to score big in the coming matches.
Gopal Thakur, go-to-man with the bat for SOC in ECS Malta 2020, leading run-scorer racking up 199 runs with a best of 54.
Ryan Ricky Bastiansz, scores quickly, is good off the back foot, mustered 175 runs including 15 towering sixes in the previous edition.
Jojo Thomas, right arm finger spinner, joint leading wicket taker scalping eight wickets with a best of 2-9 in December 2020. Picked up five wickets in two games on Monday leading the wicket taking sheets for SOC. Has conceded under six runs an over with a best return of 3-17.
Southern Crusader will be keen to open their account after enduring a tough opening day losing both their matches including a dramatic Golden Ball. However, SOC face a stiff challenge in the form of group favourites and reigning champions Marsa who have the opportunity to assume top spot in Group A after AUK and AUM shared the spoils on Wednesday. Incidentally, SOC had the wood over MAR winning both group stage games last year, but Marsa came out victorious when it mattered - in the semifinal - and later went on to become champions.
Last time they met: MAR 131 def SOC 88 (4 Dec 2020)
Match Prediction: Marsa (MAR) are expected to win this match, but SOC will provide a tough test.
