FanCode ECS Italy Bologna promises four action-fuelled T10 matches every day from Monday to Saturday, culminating in a breathtaking climax on Finals Day on March 27.
Kings XI were hotly fancied to do well at their ECS debut last summer but flattered to deceive with just a solitary win to show for their efforts. Kings will be a much better side for that experience.
Bologna fared slightly better on their debut, with a 50 percent record in six games, just missing out on the knockout stages.
However, Royal Parma outperformed them all with six wins out of six, cruising serenely to the final before losing the crunch game with the trophy on the line. Interestingly, Royal Parma finished ahead of Royal Roma in the group stages, which is a good formline considering Royal Roma won FanCode ECS Italy Rome at the weekend.
Pianoro are the most successful club in the history of Italian cricket under the driving force of their long-time President Professor Arcido Parisi, who has introduced thousands of students to the game over the decades at the local school. Pianora are the hosts this week and their ground, Oval Rastignano, is magnificent, and will become the first cricket ground with a grass pitch in Italy this summer. 15-time Italian Champions in the 50over format and Coppa Italia Champions on six occasions, Pianoro have not focused on the shorter format until now.
Cricket Stars and Baracca Prato both make their debut and will aim to spring a surprise over the shorter format.
