The European Cricket Network live broadcasts the 2020 European Cricket Series Rome semi-final encounter between Janjua Brescia and Jinnah Brescia.

PREVIEW: MATCH 22 (SEMI-FINAL 1) – Janjua Brescia v Jinnah Brescia – European Cricket Series Rome

Tune in to the live action Sunday from 10am CEST * 9am UK * 8am GMT * 1:30pm IST from the Roma Capannelle Cricket Ground in Italy.

Team Preview for Janjua Brescia

Janjua Brescia haven’t really put a foot wrong all week, topping Group A after winning all four of their group matches, albeit with one or two hairy moments. As the Italian representatives in the European Cricket League 2019, they are no strangers to big occasions.

Captain: Zahid Ali

Main Wicketkeeper: Abdul Rehman

Key Players:

Hasnat Ahmed has been a solid performer for his team this week in Rome. He is Janjua’s leading run scorer and has scored them at the out-of-this-world strike rate of 264! His leg spin bowling is also an asset for his captain.

Adnan Ali has looked like making a score all week without going on with it. This Super Sunday showdown provides the perfect canvas for him to create his masterpiece.

Zahid Ali is one of the cult figures of Italian cricket. The man I call “Italy’s answer to Allan Border” has been in the thick of the action during the series, his wily off spinners netting him seven wickets in Rome.

Muhammad Yaseen has been a reliable performer with the new ball and his picked up six wickets this week. If he can get an early breakthrough or two, Janjua will be ahead in the game.

Team Preview for Jinnah Brescia

Jinnah dropped the opening match of the series to Bergamo in somewhat of an upset but have been very strong since then, winning their final three group matches and doing so comfortably to finish in second place in Group B. The side has several players who have previously represented Janjua so the scene is set for a memorable semi-final indeed!

Captain: Ahmed Rukhsar

Main Wicketkeeper: Hassan Ahmad

Key Players:

Hassan Ahmad is an important player. He is still yet to really hit his straps with the bat and I feel that if he gets in he could go big. He showed he is a big game player in his previous European Cricket Series stint for Zurich Nomads in Switzerland.

Muhammad Jafri hasn’t quite lived up to expectations this week and has looked a little rusty, but he’s a class player and I wouldn’t be surprised if he shone on Super Sunday. Expect him to open the batting and the bowling.

Muhammad Iqbal had a bit of a shaky start to the week but his leggies have been fizzing through the air and zipping off the pitch the way we would expect to see them “Bali” is their equal leading wicket taker with 7 of them this week.

Malik Mushtaq is "THE WILD THING" and he has been making stumps nervous all week. The left-arm paceman is a handful for opposition top order players and has been surprisingly economical for such an attacking bowler.

Mr Maximo’s tip: JINNAH BRESCIA

What a match this promises to be. These two sides have an intense but friendly rivalry, each boasting talented players capable of winning the match with an outstanding performance. I feel that this game is as evenly matched as you can get, but when push came to shove something had me leaning towards Jinnah. I feel they have another gear and may show it on Super Sunday. This is one that you do NOT want to miss though, so tune in for every ball on the European Cricket Network!
