The European Cricket Network live broadcasts the 2020 European Cricket Series Rome encounter between Kings XI and Kent Lanka.

PREVIEW: MATCH 13 – Kings XI v Kent Lanka – European Cricket Series Rome

Tune in to the live action Friday from 9am CEST * 8am UK * 7am GMT * 12:30pm IST from the Roma Capannelle Cricket Ground in Italy.

Team Preview for Kings XI

Kings XI are without a win in their two matches so far in the European Cricket Series. After scoring 79 in their first match, they improved to score 103 against Roma CC but it still wasn’t enough to defend. They will hope to open their account against Kent Lanka in this match. Salman Ali comes in to take the gloves from Vikas Kumar, who is carrying a minor injury but stays in the side as a specialist batsman.

Captain: Jaipal Singh

Main Wicketkeeper: Salman Ali

Key Players:

Jaswinder Singh will feature with bat and ball. He has shown he can bat anywhere in the top six and can take wickets. He took 2 for 24 against Roma CC earlier in the week.

Jaipal Singh will lead the side and has hit the most sixes for the Kings in the series. I would like to see him promote himself a little higher in the batting order so he can maximise the destruction.

Simranjit Singh is a very stylish batsman. He is averaging over 50 in this tournament and is striking in excess of 180 runs per hundred balls.

Team Preview for Kent Lanka

Kent Lanka haven’t managed to put it together in the ECS so far. They are also without a win but have the chance to make a fresh start in this contest against Kings XI. Scoring only 84 and 80 in their two innings, they need to find a way to score more runs, and fast!

Captain: Danushka Tikiriyadura

Main Wicketkeeper: Chamode Arachchige

Key Players:

Muthumala Sudarshana will open the batting. He top-scored against Roma CC and carries a lot of responsibility for Kent Lanka making a competitive score. He has also been their best bowler, taking four wickets in the tournament to date.

Murugaiya Kanageshwaram can bat in the top three and also chip in with the ball in the middle overs. He will look to keep things moving with the bat, and stifle opposition scoring when he has the ball in hand.

Colombo Maha Perera will open the bowling and was tried up the batting order in their last game. He could be send higher again in an effort to get something moving in the first half of their batting innings.

Mr Maximo’s tip: KINGS XI

With both of these teams winless after their first two matches, the semi finals look out of reach but they could still feature in the Shield Final for third-placed teams on Saturday evening. For either of these sides to have any chance of featuring in that match, they must win this game. I favour Kings XI as they have shown more fight against strong opposition, so I predict that they will account for Kent Lanka in the first match of five on Friday. There’s plenty of T10 action to start your weekend early, so get that Friday feeling with us on ECN!
