European Cricket Series Malta provides an opportunity for six Maltese teams to showcase their skills on the magnificent island of Malta. American University of Malta, Knight Kings CC, Marsa CC, Msida Warriors CC, Overseas CC and Southern Crusaders CC will contest 33 exciting T10 games over nine days. Every game will be live streamed on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent, and for rest of the world on Sports Flick, a global OTT platform, that allows you to watch live sport on demand.

REPORT: Southern Crusaders set the pace at European Cricket Series Malta

Southern Crusaders started with intent with back to back victories against Overseas CC as the European Cricket Series Malta got underway under moody skies on Tuesday.
 
In their opening encounter, Heinrich Gericke’s handy 40 off 27 balls took Overseas to a respectable total of 89. The odds looked stacked against the Southern Crusaders as they slumped to a perilous 5-3 inside two overs. However, after some errant bowling, Gopal Thakur (40 off 23 balls) and Ryan Ricky Bastiansz (30 off 13) soon turned the tide and comfortably saw the Crusaders home with 17 balls remaining.
 
Looking to bounce back and again batting first, Overseas could only muster 72 from their 10 overs. However, a much-improved bowling performance took Overseas to the brink of victory, before Gopal Thakur smashed a six off the penultimate ball, and scrambled a single from the final ball of the innings to snatch the win.
