European Cricket Series Malta provides an opportunity for six Maltese teams to showcase their skills on the magnificent island of Malta. American University of Malta, Knight Kings CC, Marsa CC, Msida Warriors CC, Overseas CC and Southern Crusaders CC will contest 33 exciting T10 games over nine days. Every game will be live streamed on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent, and for rest of the world on Sports Flick, a global OTT platform, that allows you to watch live sport on demand.
Marsa CC racked up two impressive victories over Overseas CC, while Msida Warriors twice got the better of the previously unbeaten Southern Crusaders.
Batting first on both occasions, Marsa simply racked up too many runs for Overseas. Nowell Khosla 28 off 13 balls, and Zeeshan Khan 25 off 16 powered the Marsa total to 108 while Sidharth Anand took three wickets as winless Overseas limped to 67.
Marsa motored to an even bigger total of 131 in their next meeting with skipper Haroon Mughal hammering 37 off 15. In reply, Overseas never threatened, closing on 95, but an unbeaten partnership from Deon Vosloo (21) and Andy Naudi (22) gave the scoreline an air of responsibility.
Msida Warriors handed the leaders Southern Crusaders their first defeat by 19 runs. Rahul Nair, 46 off 25, and Renil Paul, 31 off 18, powered the total to past the century mark. Southern Crusaders slipped behind the rate despite Zeeshan Yousaf’s 30 at the top of the order as the Warriors’ skipper Nair snared a couple of wickets.
In their second meeting of the day, Msida Warriors again batted first but could only muster 72 with Justin George (26) and Nair (22) the major contributors.
However, Southern Crusaders stumbled in their reply to only 61 with Shijil Joy taking three wickets while Manuel Antony and Basil Joy both picked up two scalps to secure another victory.
