The European Cricket Network live broadcasts the 2020 European Cricket Series Malmo encounter between Evergreen CC and Helsingborg Royals SC.

PREVIEW: MATCH 6 – Evergreen CC v Helsingborg Royals SC – European Cricket Series Malmo

Tune in to the live action Tuesday from 9:30am CEST * 8:30am UK * 7:30am GMT * 1pm IST from the Limhamnsfältet Cricket Ground in Malmo.

Team Preview for Evergreen CC

Evergreen CC were highly fancied going into the tournament, but find themselves empty-handed in two matches played, squandering a big advantage in their second match. They must perform in their final two preliminary matches if they are to salvage anything from the week.

Captain: Umar Nawaz

Main Wicketkeeper: Ahmer Ali

Key Players:

Asif Kalyal was a gun with the ball on Day 1, with four wickets in two matches including a fiery spell of 3 for 6 against Malmöhus. Let’s see if he can produce again on Day 2.

Nazar Mohammed bowled some nippy left-arm pace. He can also open the batting and go big.

Irfan Mian opened the batting in their first matches. He looked good with the ball in their opening fixture before being very expensive in the second. He will hope to get back on target.

Umar Nawaz was actually Evergreen’s best batsman on Monday, with 44 runs to his name. Can he continue this good form into the final two preliminary matches?

Team Preview for Helsingborg Royals SC

Helsingborg Royals SC also found themselves winless after Monday’s action. It is time for them to go big or go home, so let’s see if they have what it takes to challenge for a place on Finals Friday.

Captain: Madhan Prabu Raman

Main Wicketkeeper: Pramod Chandrasekaraiah

Key Players:

Abinash Panda took a while to get going on Day 1, but was the standout batsman for the Royals, scoring 76 runs at a strike rate of 117. His bowling was effective, with his spinners taking 3 for 12 off three overs bowled. His quicker ball is a deceptive weapon.

Madhan Prabu Raman has the potential but didn’t get much of an opportunity to show what he can do in their initial two fixtures. He will hope for greater opportunities to shine on Tuesday.

Sachin Shetty bowled well without reward on Monday, and showed promise with the bat towards the end of their innings in their second match, scoring an unbeaten 15. I would like to see him pushed up the order as a potential spark for their batting innings.

Sadashiv Gour is the go-to man with the ball for the Royals. He looked threatening at times in their opening two fixtures and will hope to lead the charge of the Royals on Tuesday.

Mr Maximo’s tip: EVERGREEN CC

The Royals looked a bit off the pace on Monday as they struggled to adapt to the requirements of the T10 format. Evergreen underperformed also, but they showed more promise and potential, so for that reason I think Evergreen will keep their week alive with a win over the Helsingborg Royals in the opening match of Tuesday.
