PREVIEW: MATCH 6 – RC Dresden v Berlin Eagles – European Cricket Series Dresden

Tune in to the live action Tuesday from 9am CEST * 8am UK * 7am GMT * 12:30pm IST from the Ostrapark ground in Dresden.

Team Preview for RC Dresden

RC Dresden had a perfect start to their ECS journey on home turf, unbeaten in their three opening matches on the first day of the tournament. With only one appearance on Day 2, they will want to maintain their unblemished record.

Captain: Syed Waqar Hussain

Main Wicketkeeper: Waqas Khalil

Key Players:

Syed Waqar Hussain is the man they call ‘The King’ and he led the side expertly on Monday. I would like to see him have a chance at the top of the order so we can see how destructive he can be with that bat.

Sandeep Kamboj is a club veteran who was their leading run scorer on the first day with 93 at a strike rate of 172. He also took an early contender for catch of the tournament, a spectacular one-handed effort in the outfield.

Rahul Grover bowled 12 balls on Monday and five of them were wickets. Can he keep up that incredible strike rate?

Kapil Chandnani bowled very well in their first three matches, with a team-high six wickets.

Team Preview for Berlin Eagles

The Eagles experienced a few teething problems in the T10 format in their first three matches, failing to register a win. They struggled to make a competitive score and seemed to be lacking in batting depth. The good news is that with five preliminary matches in hand, they have time to turn things around.

Captain: Khaliq Zaman

Main Wicketkeeper: Chamila Bandara

Key Players:

Younis Ahmedzai looked dangerous at times on Day 1. He has a big responsibility at the top of the order to contribute substantially to a competitive total.

Bashar Khan picked up six wickets on Monday at an outstanding economy rate of 6.16. He is the key to their attack against a powerful RC Dresden batting lineup.

Reuben Davies was Berlin’s leading run scorer on their first day of action, despite only featuring in two of the three matches. He will hope to keep piling on the runs on their Super Tuesday.

Naser Hamed also picked up six wickets on Day 1 but was quite expensive in doing so. He will look to tighten things up on the second day in Dresden.

Mr Maximo’s tip: RC DRESDEN

This is a danger game for RC Dresden, as I feel complacency could creep in for this fixture. However, I think they have superior firepower and should take care of the Berlin’s on the first of five European Cricket Series matches in Dresden on Tuesday.
