The European Cricket Network live broadcasts the 2020 European Cricket Series Barcelona encounter between Men in Blue and Pak Montcada.
Tune in to the live action Tuesday from 8:30am CET * 7:30am UK/GMT * 1pm IST from the Montjuïc ground in Barcelona, Spain.
Team Preview for Men in Blue
Men in Blue CC have had some good moments so far but they don't have too much to show for it – just a solitary win from their four matches played. A semi-final spot may be out of reach but they still have a big day – with their final three group matches on Tuesday, they'll be keen to finish their European Cricket Series on a winning note.
Captain & Main Wicketkeeper: Prasanna Jathan
Shankar Kaligatla is a key all-rounder. He has bowled very well especially in the late overs so far and would like a big score with the bat to set up his team. If Kaligatla fires, Men in Blue will be in the match.
Puneet Shrimali has been the Men in Blue’s most economical bowler so far in the series, going at a miserly 6.5 runs per over. He will have his work cut out for him against a powerful Pak Montcada top four.
Shubhdeep Deb held his team’s innings together against Gracia CC in their last match, scoring 40 not out off only 19 balls out of a below par team total of 72. He will need some help from his teammates if Men in Blue are going to compete in this match.
Team Preview for Pak Montcada
Pak Montcada CC have impressed me so far, winning three out of their four games in the European Cricket Series. They are currently sitting third but with games in hand on the two teams above them, they can certainly play their way into the semi-finals if they keep winning, starting with their double header on Tuesday morning.
Captain: Raja Adeel
Main Wicketkeeper: Syed Hashim Mir
Prince Dhiman is Pak Montcada's leading run-scorer with 110 in three matches. He's also been more than handy with the ball, with five wickets for only 17 runs in the series so far and a best bowling of 3/2! Boasting an economy rate of just a tick over four runs per over, THE FRESH PRINCE has been on a roll in Barcelona!
Ibrar Hussain has been damaging with the ball in this series. He has taken ten wickets in only four matches, taking three wickets in a match on three separate occasions! Taking wickets wins cricket matches – as my coach used to say to us, “Bat for show, bowl for dough!”
Nawazish Ali has also been effective with the ball in hand, taking eight wickets whilst going for under a run a ball. He is just another weapon of a Pak Montcada attack that has taken 34 wickets in only four games of T10 cricket.
Mr Maximo’s tip: PAK MONTCADA
Men in Blue end their first European Cricket Series campaign with a triple-header on Tuesday, but I expect the ambition and class of Pak Montcada to be too strong for them in the first match of the day. Pak Montcada to win and set up and interesting three-way race for the top two spots in Group B with Falco and Catalunya CC. Join us for all the action on the European Cricket Network – there’s plenty more stories still to be written in Barcelona!
