PREVIEW: MATCH 2, CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND – Bohemian CC vs Prague Barbarians Vandals – ECN Czech Super Series

Tune in to the live action Saturday from 12pm CEST * 11am UK * 10am GMT * 3:30pm IST from the Vinor Cricket Ground, Prague in the Czech Republic.

Team Preview for Bohemian CC

Bohemian CC were the first team to qualify, with a confident performances throughout their matches back in Week 1.  Playing two of their three preliminary matches back-to-back to open the Championship Weekend, they can’t afford to be rusty.

Captain: Javed Iqbal

Main Wicket-Keeper: Pratap Jagtap

Key Players:

Sazib Bhuiyan was outstanding for his side back in Week 1 of the ECN Czech Super Series, picking up 7 wickets at the economy rate of only 5.16.  He also provided 42 valuable runs with the bat.

Zahid Mahmood is Bohemian’s X-factor! He has only had a couple of innings to show what he can do so far, and I’m sure he’d like to display his talent in front of the cricketing world.

Javed Iqbal has performed admirably with bat and ball, but he may have some headaches if he needs to turn to a bowling option outside his five headliners.

Team Preview for Prague Barbarians Vandals

Prague Barbarians Vandals sailed to the Championship Weekend on the sails of their so called “Big Three”.  This strength is also their greatest weakness, but with the T10 format, it may be enough to see them go all the way!

Captain & Main Wicket-Keeper: Pradeep Gangappa

Key Players:

HoneyGori is one of Czech cricket’s great characters.  He certainly wears his heart on his sleeve, and I’m looking forward to see him display his talent again.  He has scored 95 runs and picked up four wickets, but I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him yet.

Sabawoon Davizi will likely open the batting and make the most of the powerplay overs.  He is the top run scorer in the series with 154 runs, and has picked up six wickets along the way.  He is nursing a slight finger injury, which hopefully won’t affect his ability to perform.

Divyendra Singh is the third pillar of their “Big Three”.  As well as being a talented stroke maker up the top of the order, he can also keep wickets if required and has been a very effective bowler, picking up five wickets whilst only giving up a run a ball.

MR MAXIMO’S TIP: PRAGUE BARBARIANS VANDALS

It is going to be a fascinating contest, with Bohemian CC having the advantage of playing in the preceding match to this one.  But I think the Big Three will come out ready for action and for that reason I’m tipping the Vandals to get up narrowly.
