Deesh Banneheka takes five wickets in an over at Dream11 European Cricket Series St Gallen

After 16-year-old Eden Wardle’s historic hat-trick heroics the previous day, Jagath "Deesh" Banneheka went one better by taking a double hat-trick - four wickets in four balls - in a sensational quintuple wicket maiden for Winterthur at the Dream11 European Cricket Series St Gallen.

Leaders Olten were well placed at 75-1 with three overs remaining, before Deesh Banneheka, who had disappeared for 13 runs in his first over, did the business with the ball to devastating effect. All five wickets were taken from catches of varying difficulty, with Deesh taking a wicket with the first ball of his over, before a rare dot ball followed. Cue four wickets in four balls, also known as a double hat-trick amid amazing scenes in St Gallen.

Unfortunately for Winterthur, Deesh Banneheka’s amazing bowling exploits proved to no avail, as they failed to chase down the 95 required for victory, falling 19 runs short in the face of another impressive bowling performance from Olten.
