Two German giants met in the Dream11 European Cricket Series Kummerfeld Final with KSV overpowering rivals SG Findorff on home soil by 17 runs.
Batting first, KSV openers Shoaib Azam Khan and Mussaddiq Ahmad hit five sixes in a row between them from ball 8 to 13 to provide a blitz start - bringing up 50 inside 3 overs. Ahmad raced to his own fifty off just 15 balls, ending with a barnstorming 80 off 30 balls.
Muhammad Samiullah also came to the party with a rapid 45, hitting half of the 14 balls he faced for massive sixes. KSV crushed their way to a seemingly impregnable 164 – the highest score of the tournament - at the perfect juncture.
Skipper Hamid Wardak hammered two fours and a six in the three balls possible before the rain intervened. After a 15-minute break in play, a shellshocked SG Findorff lost wickets regularly and never looked likely to chase down the mammoth target. Leggie Israr Khan took a couple of wickets for KSV to stem the flow of runs further, while birthday girl Sharanya Sadarangani, who turned 25 today, completed a stumping to complete a fine week’s work behind the stumps.
Winning wicket keeper!Only a brilliant 50 from Jeevan Bhatt saved some face as the ECL19 runners-up closed on 147 - making this German final, with a whopping 311 runs, the highest total amount of runs in a Dream11 European Cricket Series match EVER!
