Tune in to the live action Friday from 10am CEST * 9am UK * 8am GMT * 1:30pm IST from the Karsby Cricket Center ground in Stockholm, Sweden.

Team Preview for Nacka CC

Nacka CC have gone through the week unbeaten to top Group A, although they had a bit of an off day in the field in their last appearance against Spånga United.  They won’t want to relax at all in this huge semi-final showdown against a very strong Märsta side.

Captain: Zabi Zahid

Main Wicket-Keeper: Rashid Khan

Key Players:

Sohail Zahid has been “Boom Boom”, scoring 109 runs at a strike rate of 210.  As a back-up wicketkeeper he is a statue with gloves, but as an opening batsman he is very dangerous.

Omran Zazai has been a revelation with the bat, going at a supersonic rate of 3 runs per ball faced!  He’s a maximo machine, leading the tournament with 12 sixes this week.

Lemar Momand is an impressive left-arm paceman who has picked up 6 wickets this week, troubling batsmen with his movement and accuracy.

Team Preview for Märsta CC

Märsta CC finished second in Group B.  They would have topped their group, but for a loss in a last ball of the day thriller against Djurgårdens IF Cricketförening on Tuesday evening.  With a host of star players, they will not go down easily, and will be hoping to show the kind of form that took them to the top of the tree in Swedish short-form cricket last season.

Captain: Sweed Ullah

Main Wicket-Keeper: Waqas Anis

Key Players:

Hamid Mehmood is an outstanding all-round talent.  He is their leading run scorer AND their leading wicket taker this week.  He has dual key roles, opening the batting and providing valuable left-arm spin in the middle overs.

Waqas Haider has been a fan favourite amongst our ECN viewers.  The “Silver Fox” is their leading 6 hitter, strikes at over 200 and has also picked up five wickets in the tournament.

Fahad Waqas is heating up and ready to boil on Finals Friday.  He showed what he can do in their last match, smashing 40 off only 17 balls to guide his side to a respectable score.

Mr Maximo’s tip: Nacka CC

This is genuinely one of the most difficult games I can remember having being asked to make a prediction for.  These teams are very evenly matched and you could really probably toss a coin – it’s that close.  I’ve leaned towards Nacka because I think that the scare in their last game may just be what they need to spur them on, while Märsta have shown the occasional chink in the armour.  Whatever happens will certainly be a very entertaining game of cricket so make sure you watch it, wherever you are in the world!
