Former Germany international and Munich Cricket Club stalwart Wayne van Dalsum has been in creative form during lockdown.

A hard-hitting left-handed opener, Wayne represented Germany and Munich CC for many years. “Van Damage” as he is better known in Bavaria, has scored 5785 runs for Munich CC at an average of 43.83, taking 167 wickets as well.

Boosted by the combined creative talents of daughter Tara and partner, Helena Gillerblad, and her daughters Livia, Linnea and Hannah, Wayne got busy during lockdown.

“It’s a typical lockdown story I suppose. Five girls and me were stuck at home and we needed a few family projects to keep us from going stir crazy during lockdown,” Wayne, a professional translator and interpreter, told the European Cricket Network.

“We translated a great German song ‘Nur noch kurz die Welt retten’ by Tim Bendzko (Just got to Save the World First) into English. It’s an awesome song and one thing led to another. Maybe it’s something a zillion families are going through right now.”
