European Cricket Family mourns passing of Czech cricket legend Scott Page

Originally from Australia, Scott Page started playing at Prague Cricket Club in 1997, the very first team in the country. He went on to represent Bohemians for many years and played international cricket for the Czech Republic in numerous ICC tournaments.

He won a total of 22 international caps, making his last appearance at the 2019 Central European Cup at Vinor Field in Prague, the Czech Republic’s leading cricketing facility, where he later became the head groundsman.

A genuinely, larger than life character, Scott was the driving force in forming Velvary CC, sourcing and building his own ground, typical of his incredible spirit, drive and passion for cricket in the Czech Republic.

Furthermore, Scott was an enthusiastic coach at junior level, helping out with schools cricket for well over a decade, as well as coaching weekend kids cricket in the park.

“Scott has been an integral part of cricket here since the first team was formed in 1997, a player, coach, groundsman, board member and most of all friend. Scott contributed more than any other to every aspect of cricket in the Czech Republic and made his mark on the game all over Europe,” said Terry O’Connor, COO of Czech Cricket.

Survived by his wife Martina and their two daughters, as well as two other daughters from previous relationships, Scott was 52 years old.

Rest in Peace Scott and heartfelt condolences to the family from everyone at the European Cricket Family.
