Day 3 PREVIEW: FanCode ECS Greece – Matches 6 to 10 - T10 CRICKET LIVE

FanCode ECS Greece provides an opportunity for five teams contesting 24 games over six days to establish the Champions. Every game will be live streamed worldwide on the European Cricket Network and on FanCode - a multi-sport aggregator platform, from the house of Dream Sports for the Indian Sub-Continent.

European Cricket Network live broadcasts five T10 matches on Day 3 of the 2021 FanCode ECS Greece on Wednesday 20 October.

 

GEK grabbed three wins to storm into the lead, while Deklathon and Forge shared the spoils. Athens Cricket Academy remain winless, while Kallithea Sixers Athens will be keen to make their mark when they enter the fray on Wednesday.

Muaaz Ali, the 22-year old is one of the best batters in the DEK side. He will normally open the innings for his side. Expect some fireworks at the start of the innings if he gets going. Scored 18 runs in three games in a disappointing start.

Amarpreet Mehmi, Greece national team player, the talented all-rounder has scored 46 runs in five innings and picked up two wickets in seven T20Is.

Thomas Zotos, the 16-year old native Greek was instrumental in his side’s only win on Tuesday. The medium pacer returned figures of 3-7 to and was rewarded with the Player of the Match award.

Hasan Tutul, right arm medium pacer, bowls wicket to wicket and is hard to get away, joint top scorer for DEK picking up FOUR wickets.

Muhammad Shafique, top order batter and fast bowler who will usually take the new cherry.

Aslam Mohammad, national team player and coach, the all-rounder is the leading run scorer for Greece in T20Is amassing 126 runs in five innings at a SR of 154 including two fifties. He has also picked up FOUR wickets. Joint top scorer and joint top wicket taker for GEK racking up 70 runs and scalping FOUR wickets in three games on Tuesday.

Tasos Manousis, hard hitting left handed batter, second highest scorer for Greece in T20Is racking up 107 runs in seven innings. Joint top scorer for GEK scoring 70 runs in three games.

Giorgios Galanis, the talented 17-year old spinner is the leading wicket taker for Greece in T20Is scalping 11 wickets in six games. Joint top wicket taker for GEK picking up FOUR wickets in three games.

Asrar Ahmed, another Greece national team player who has performed reasonably well in T20Is scoring 94 runs and picking up NINE wickets in seven matches. Picked up two wickets on Tuesday.

 

GEK made a fast start winning all three games on Day 2 and will be looking to keep the momentum going. DEK struggled with the bat in all three games but managed to win the last match on the back of some good bowling. These two sides played a three-over bash on Tuesday with GEK trumping handsomely.

KALLITHEA SIXERS ATHENS Key Players:

Clinton Freeman, experienced middle order batter, can bowl variations of medium pace and leg spinners too. Jack of all trades, can also keep wicket.

Vaio Springas, the captain is a vastly experienced batter, and a tricky bowler able to use his height to extract variable bounce.

Jonathan Allen, capable medium pacer able with the ability to shape the ball around. A decent batter with a wide selection of shots in his locker.

Parveez Niazai,  Good top order batter possessing a broad selection of shots. Can find the boundary with ease.  Likely to open bowling as well with good, disciplined line and length. Will save runs in the field too with his powerful arm.

 

KSA will be chomping at the bit having had to wait till Wednesday to enter the fray, while Deklathon will be relieved to get off the mark with their first win at the third attempt.

 

Match Prediction: Dekathlon and KSA to share the spoils with a win apiece.

Zubair Ashraf, has been ACA leading bowler of late and will be looking to impress on the big stage. Also likely to bat in the top order. Joint top wicket taker for ACA scalping THREE wickets with a best return of 2-16.

Zain Ali Haider will be looking to score heavily at the top of the order. Top scored for ACA on Tuesday scoring 40 runs in two games.



FORGE (FOR)

FORGE Key Players:

Asghar Ali, talented all-rounder, can bowl quick but very accurate in his line and length. Record wicket taker since 2019. Most economical bowler on Tuesday conceding just 3.5 runs per over. He returned figures of 2-9 vs DEK in the second game.

Sajid Mehar, can apparently bat both right and left hand and bowl at decent pace. A very special young talent, can bat anywhere in the order.

Nasir Mommandi, top order batter and bowls leg spin-googly variations. Scored a fighting 28 off 22 balls in the second game vs DEK.

Umair Javid, the hard hitting all-rounder scored an unbeaten 34 off 18 to bag player of the match award in his debut ECS game.

 

Forge would be disappointed with the loss against DEK in the final match on Tuesday. With only 64 runs to win, FOR batting faltered losing the game by seven runs. FOR are a good bowling side but will need to improve their batting to go all the way. Athens Cricket Academy started off poorly losing both their matches to leaders GEK and will be looking to turn things around on Wednesday.
