PREVIEW: MATCH 5 – Bangladesh Kings v Falco – European Cricket Series Barcelona November

The European Cricket Network live broadcasts the 2020 European Cricket Series Barcelona encounter between Bangladesh Kings and Falco.

Tune in to the live action Tuesday from 8:30am CET * 7:30am UK/GMT * 1pm IST from the Montjuïc ground in Barcelona, Spain.

Team Preview for Bangladesh Kings

The Bangladesh Kings were impressive in the previous ECS, winning six of their seven group matches before going down to Catalunya CC in the semi-final. They faced the same opponents in their first match of this series but again weren’t able to come away with a victory as their total of 81 was chased down with seven balls to spare. They would love to open their account for this series against Falco in this match.

Captain: Moshiur Rahman

Main Wicketkeeper: Jubed Miah

Key Players:

Jubed Miah will open the batting. He only made 11 in their first match but was sensational in the October series, ending up second in the overall run-scoring with 282 runs including a high score of 87. After that failure in the first match he'll be very keen to put his stamp of authority on this series and score some big runs at the top of the order.

Muhammad Asjed Butt has joined the Kings from Pak Montcada. He was influential in getting his new side to a respectable total on Monday, with a cameo 30 runs off only nine balls faced, batting at number five. That’s one way to ingratiate yourself to your new teammates!

Hussain Aminul was a weapon with the ball against Catalunya CC. He took 3 for 13 off his two overs, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to get the Kings the win they wanted in the opening match of their European Cricket Series.

Team Preview for Falco

Falco CC were the runners-up in the October European Cricket Series but almost dropped their opening match against Badalona Shaheen. They looked gone for all money with their opponents requiring only 25 off the last four overs of the match but in a stunning turnaround they restricted them to only 20 to win a memorable contest by four runs.

Captain: Kamran Raja

Main Wicketkeeper: Awais Ahmed

Key Players:

Awais Ahmed is an accomplished wicketkeeper-batsmen who represents Spain in international competition. Although nobody scored as many runs as him in October, he failed in his first innings of this series. I think he will come back with a vengeance on Day 2 of competition.

Rehman Ullah held his team’s innings together on Monday, with an unbeaten 40 off 23 balls to get Falco to a defendable score. He is a powerful straight hitter who loves the short boundaries on offer in the European Cricket Series.

Shahbaz Ahmed was Bangladesh Kings’s leading wicket-taker last month, with 12 wickets at a very reasonable economy rate of 8.31. He is the man for the big moment, as he showed with not only one but TWO hat tricks! He held his nerve when the game was on the line against Badalona Shaheen, closing out the innings with 2 for 8 off his two overs.

Mr Maximo’s tip: FALCO

The first match of four on Tuesday is a very intriguing matchup. The Kings will be desperate to get a win on the board early in the series but Falco won’t be giving anything away. I think Falco were sufficiently frightened into action in their tight first match and so I see them doing the business against the Bangladesh Kings in this one, who are still missing a couple of key players including Kamrul Islam Foysol who should return within a week.
