Needing two runs to tie off the final ball of the innings, Pakcelona looked cooked against Catalunya Tigers with the ball resting comfortably in the wicket keeper's hands and still needing another run to force a tie.

Cue some ingenious running between the wickets and panic everywhere in the field.

The Golden Ball regulation means that in the event of a tied match with scores level, the batting side stays at the crease and has to score two or more runs from the “Golden Ball” to win.

Sadly for Pakcelona, Catalunya Tigers won Golden Ball X, the tenth in European Cricket Series history, despite a misfield and hightened potential for a similarly bizarre ending to the previous ball.
