European Cricket Championship

In a major coup for European cricket South African legend Jonty Rhodes was appointed Sweden coach last year, travelling bravely through the Swedish winter snow to take his first indoor training session!

Swedish cricket history dates all the way back to 1883, when the first club formed had a name that translates as the ‘Society of Joy’. British Embassy staff created Stockholm CC in 1948, the very first organised club still going strong today, which back then played against crews of passing ships.

In 1990s a national federation was formed and more recently Sweden earnt a place in the ICC European 1st Division.

Currently ranked 45th in the ICC T20 Mens rankings, Sweden will be a fiercely competitive T10 unit as most of their line-up have impressed in a host of European Cricket Series tournaments in Sweden over the last two years.
